Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo is a former professor of economics from Loyola University Maryland. DiLorenzo, who received his Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, is a member of the Senior Faculty of the Mises Institute, a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute, and an Associate at the Abbeville Institute.
He is the author of numerous books, including “The Real Lincoln: A New Look a Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War,” “Lincoln Unmasked: What You’re Not Supposed to Know About Dishonest Abe,” “The Problem with Lincoln,” “Hamilton’s Curse: How Jefferson’s Arch Enemy Betrayed the American Revolution – and What It Means for Americans Today,” and “The Problem with Socialism,” and his articles have appeared in publications such as Public Choice, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and USA Today. DiLorenzo and I discuss everything from Dishonest Abe, mercantilism, and libertarianism, to Juneteenth, Thomas Sowell, and cats.

Enriching interview. I’ve read his books and have blogged about them. And,YES, secession is the way to go. I pushed that BIG TIME in my Patiots Call to Action (Amazon), America’s ignorance or dismissiveness of our Constitution is killing us. Again, thanks so much for this page. Jim, I should have you on the DM podcast maybe later this summer to discuss your 2013 book, not just the pearls of wisdom you wrote about back then, but perhaps how you would tweak your arguments for the completely unhinged and utterly lawless and godless mobocracy we live in today. I truly see secession as the ONLY way forward and away from the coming Murican gulags. But realistically, how would that look in our world of urban vs. rural regions (within states), and not red vs. blue states?

Jim, I have not read your book and didn’t even realize that it had been revised in 2016. One day soon I shall remedy this!
My husband and I were thinking about moving and possibly renting our house, but reading your words gives me pause. I’ve heard some horror stories from others, too, so perhaps we’ll just sell it outright, that is, if we can ever figure out what we’re doing and where we’re going.
Me? I’d choose a place where Freedom and Liberty are still important. Texas, currently in ful-blown secession mode Check out Texas Nationalist Movement site–good info), but also Florida, for all the obvious reasons. Tax and cultural situation more favorable in those States as well.
Ditto to the other comments on this interview, Miss Rebecca! Dr. Di Lorenzo is yet another in the pantheon of thinkers/writers that always has something worth listening to!
Content like this serves to embolden us in the truth, to not back down to those, either out of ignorance or malice, who would continue in their slander of our people!

Yes, in black-pilled times such as these, it’s necessary to listen and learn from these great thinkers for both knowledge AND inspiration, as well as to support their efforts. As you well know, we gotta stick together ’cause that line in the sand dividing sane and insane, brave and virtue-signaling coward, learned and brainwashed, etc. becomes starker by the day. We don’t have the numbers on our side, but we do have truth, beauty, and goodness.

Excellent choice for an interview! I used to be more of a moderate/”conservative” but Thomas DiLorenzo’s books really helped open my eyes, especially when learning about the war criminal that people worship at the nation’s capital.
He’s also written some really good books about Hamilton and capitalism, he really knows how to apply economics to history and remove a lot of the myths about nobility that historical figures have been attached with. Just like politicians of today, our beloved historical politicians like Hamilton and Lincoln were also possessed by money, connections, and power.
a doubling of a 15 percent tariff is pretty ridiculous after an election.
